Thoughts about my photographic work

Trees

For many years I’ve had a fascination with trees especially when in autumn and winter their structure becomes visible. The glance towards the sky offers each time new and fascinating perspectives. Through the interaction with the light and the clouds in the background the section caught on camera becomes an abstract pattern, a dynamic structure, a fine network, three-dimensional, layered or just pure form of which the positive and negative get through their strong light/dark contrast into such a vivid interplay that they develop their own dynamic so we cannot recognize for sure what we see.

The vitality of the grown structures gets at times even anthropomorphic character. Like groups of figures the branches stretch towards the sky completely in tune with their neighbouring branches and in constant interaction with them.
